Window Functions
Below are the window functions for some recent proper distance surveys
The window functions are normalized and the scale is logarithmic. Explanations for these plots can be seen in
Rick Watkins & Hume A. Feldman,
Interpreting New Data on Large Scale Bulk Flows. 1995, ApJL 453 L72-76. I am doing some new stuff
so I thought I will calculate those for the ENEAR,
SFI,
RFGC and
SBF velocity field surveys.
The paper is
Current Status Of Velocity Field Surveys: A Consistency Check
, 2006, astro-ph/0607426.
For a discussion of the window functions check the
poster Devdeep Sarkar made for the APS
meeting in Tampa, Florida for the
poster session on April 18th, 2005.
